Policy on BDM12 Firmware upgradesThe intent for the firmware upgrade product is to allow you to upgrade your existing firmware, or to replace a damaged PIC chip. To order a firmware upgrade, I will need to have a record of your previous BDM12 purchase. I have recently been receiving product support requests from people who have purchased chips from third parties. I do not provide product support for boards I did not provide. These parts were purchased as firmware upgrades. I am now implementing a policy that you may only order firmware upgrades, U-BDM12, for the number of boards you purchased and that I have records of. I may also, at my option, require you to return the previous firmware parts. If you wish to order a firmware part for your own board design, then you need to purchase the firmware for that purpose, part number F-BDM12. If you intend to resell your designs, then you should contact me for a licensing agreement. |
